McGill student swept away by mighty current after water main break causes severe flooding in Montreal
A torrent of water was gushing through downtown Montreal, with a section of the city paralyzed by a water main break Monday.
The flood began near McGill University near rush hour, prompting traffic jams as police rerouted cars and people struggled to escape the area.
Some people wrapped themselves in garbage bags to protect their lower body from the ice-cold water as they crossed submerged streets.
